Designed it because other parts didn't fit well or are too low, causing them to crash into the paper clip that holds the print bed. Update 2016-10-02: My printer had an issue caused by a cooling fan blowing air directly onto the temperature sensor of the heater. This resulted in a temperature reading that was way off, for example setting it to 215°C but through the cooling fan the heater thought it was too cold and heated up to 265°C. Make sure your temperature sensor is protected from the cooling air. I will design an additional part to cover the heater and sensor or you can use kapton tape to cover the extruder block with the heater and temperature sensor. Update 2016-11-08: I designed a new fan duct at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1877005, which solves my issues and is more compact anyway.
