I couldn't find a spool holder that matched my eBay printer's 5mm thick wooden frame, so I opted for an alternative from this community. I adjusted the gap to fit perfectly and added a cutout for a notched 200mm long spool pole that would sit comfortably on either side of the LCD screen support. Next, I created a custom 200mm long 20mm diameter spool with a secure fitting arm to match the original arms' design. However, I felt the arms were not sufficiently secure, so this modification was necessary. After purchasing a reel of Geeetech PLA filament that appeared to be wound very tightly, I encountered frequent jamming issues due to the extruder working against the winding and the friction on the pole. To resolve this problem, I designed an oversized outer cylinder to fit over the 20mm pole, separating it with bearings measuring 20 x 47 x 14. The bearing's specifications are a 20mm hole, a 47mm diameter, and a 14mm width. Some smaller reels, particularly those weighing 500g or less, may not fit within this large "over spool/pole" design, which has a 52mm diameter. To accommodate these reels, I printed an additional 20mm diameter spool specifically for them. My custom pole design does not feature end caps, as I couldn't justify printing another unit solely for cosmetic purposes. The community's design does include filled-in ends, however.
