Geeetech MK8 dual extruder plate for my Quick Fit Carriage
thingiverse
A mounting plate for the Geeetech MK8 dual extruder is made specifically to fit my Quick Fit Carriage (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1670305). To make room for the plate, the fans and heat sinks have to be taken out since they reduce Y-building volume by ~29mm and add weight and torque to the carriage. Alternative cooling of the throat and two motors is achieved through a air-duct system powered by a 50mm blower. On each side, mounting holes for M3 screws and nuts are present to allow for fixation of bed-level sensors, with a separation of 26mm between them. The blower-attachment has been made removable. A 40mm fan version will be added later. Used dimensions of the mounting bracket are: 86.0mm x 10mm x 15.5mm. Since I don't have a dual extruder, I'm unable to check if everything is working properly. No CAD-data-sheets are available for the extruder. Many thanks go out to Tombhunter for their manifold and valuable bug-fixing input. Print Settings Notes: A version with manually designed support and without it is provided. Please select a proper printing orientation: The flat side should be down. Manually designed supports indicate proper printing orientation. Post-Printing Remove the various optimized support structures. Use M3 nuts for fixation of custom attachments. Use M4 screws for fixation of the extruder.
