Geeetech Mixing Hot end Mod
thingiverse
First off, major props to Israel Andrade for creating the part, which was snagged from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3203831 - I should have taken some photos when I completed mine! I've simply combined the part and image for you all to enjoy. Update: please note that a smaller cap is utilized in the A10T; be sure to select the correct end cap. A few hot-end designs, including Geeetech's, come with a flaw - the PTFE tube can rise up within the hot end if the Bowden tube clamp fails. This leads to thermal runaway and inevitable clogs that ruin prints. It might be resolved by using high-quality Bowden clamps, but this isn't a guaranteed fix. There's an alternative. The best solution I've discovered is cutting a 33mm length of PTFE (you'll need to trim it to fit) and fitting a cap; the cap secures the PTFE in place within the hot end when the Bowden fitting is screwed on top of it. TIP: if you must remove the short tube from the hot end, there's nothing to grasp, but if you possess a Swiss needle file, gently push it in until it grips the tube and lift it out - don't push too hard or it may become stuck. This isn't my idea or STL; Israel Andrade kindly sent me the file, and I found the assembly image on the web. I've received some great feedback, so I've removed the "work in progress" label and published it to help illustrate the issue of slipping PTFE.
