UPDATE 15/06/2018 The Hare microswitch support can replace the original one that needs to be cut away, offering a convenient upgrade. It's also necessary to cut part of the top side of the backplate to allow hotbed adjustment nuts and screws to pass over it - the cut size depends on your specific adjustment nuts. This modification enables a significant increase in printing area, reaching up to 270mm carriage excursion. ----------------------------------------- 17/5/2018 ----------------------------------------------- This is not an extension; rather, it's a modification of the bearing position under the hotbed. Originally, the printing area on the Y axis was limited to 200mm, but changing the bearings' position increases this by about 50mm. Simply replacing the supports under the bed and reassembling everything on the tracks yields a modest increase of around 25mm. To achieve the additional 25mm, it's essential to relocate the end stop microswitch of the Y axis and verify that there is clearance for the hotbed level adjustment wingnuts to pass over the backside frame. Although this step has not been taken yet, as more printing area is not currently needed, a support for the microswitch will be designed when a larger glass plate is acquired for the hotbed. In most cases, a bigger glass plate is not necessary when printing with PLA. It's crucial to update y_bed_size in "configuration.h".
