Geeetech i3 Pro X layer fan

Geeetech i3 Pro X layer fan

I've tried out several designs for a layer fan. Ducted versions, "free" versions, downloaded models, self-designed creations all had their drawbacks. My conclusion was that ducted versions didn't quite live up to expectations - too much air compression in the ducts, small diameters and tiny fans making them less effective than I'd hoped. So, I decided to design my own free layer fan mount from scratch. This one performs well at cooling a large portion of freshly printed layers and surprisingly has little impact on the hotend. Additionally, there's ample space on the right side for mounting some LED lights - that's why there's a hole for cables. It was designed specifically for direct mounting on the Geeetech Prusa i3 Pro X Extruder mount, so use a 40mm fan. Print Settings: Printer: Geeetech i3 Pro X Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 25% Notes: I've printed with 0.2mm resolution and 25% infill, but feel free to experiment with other settings - it's up to you. Mount the part in a way that allows the largest surface area to lie flat on the bed.
