Geeetech i3 Pro C Dual Extruder X-axis width fix
thingiverse
Geeetech's own dual extruder upgrade for their i3 Prusa printer keeps standard single extruder printer dimensions intact. Each extruder is offset by 16mm from center. This limits build volume to about 184mm wide when using a single extruder, and only 168mm wide using both extruders. My upgrade offsets bottom and top Z-axis mounts out by 16mm in either direction. This restores full 200mm wide build volume while using both extruders. Upper mounts have larger hole for threaded rod to reduce Z-axis wobble. I also had problem with X-axis travel being limited by X-axis tensioner bolt. I designed new tensioner mount outside of Z-axis mount. This modification requires cutting larger opening from Z-axis mount for belt. Taking Chris_Vanclercq's idea, I have posted designs where right-side Z-axis is offset by 26mm so that you can use original X-axis tensioner. In addition to these 3D printed parts, longer 8mm rods are needed for X-axis (minimum 205mm length or 215mm length for 26mm offset parts), as well as 1m long GT2 belt. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Geeetech Prusa i3 C Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 30% honeycomb Notes: All STL files are oriented in direction they should be printed. I typically print these parts with 0.5mm nozzle, 2 shells, and 3 layers top/bottom. However, I have found it necessary to print tensioner with 4 walls and 40% fill.
