Geeetech i3 Pro B X-axis rework MK3S
thingiverse
I merged some changes present in the MK3S version of the X ends. The updated OpenSCAD files I used as a source are from jdobrys, and I'm willing to publish my revised openSCAD files if anyone wants them. This redesign maintains the 21mm separation between the lead screw and linear shaft, along with an additional 5mm motor spacing for compatibility with the geeetech i3 pro b geometry. Note that you'll need the tensioner (either M3 or M4) from the original thing by jdobry. The following changes were implemented: I adopted the MK3S base X end model, which features a taller cylinder for the trapezoidal nut. I also incorporated the opening diameter and nut spacing used in the MK3S Prusa POM trapezoidal nut (black plastic instead of brass). Note that this will not work with the default geeetech i3 pro b trapezoidal nuts. If you don't have POM nuts like the prusa original, please do not use this design. I widened the bearing hole to 14.95mm, resulting in a snug fit for the LM8UU bearings. Originally, I had trouble fitting the bearings with a diameter of 14.80mm. I adopted the MK3S viewing holes for inspecting correct shaft insertion and incorporated the MK3S chamfers on sides and ends where permitted by the design to reduce material waste.
