Geeetech i3 Clone V2 - Z axis

myminifactory

This is a Geeetech i3 Z-axis modification. My version uses plywood, so it might not be suitable for acrylic or other versions. The final Z printing area depends on the extruder throat length; I have a 50mm throat and reach 235mm. The original Geeetech throat is 38mm long, so the printing area will be about 245mm. To extend the top of the printer without major modifications to the frame, you'll need to drill just two 3mm holes. Other parts include step motor supports that fit into the original Geeetech frame junctions, requiring four 3mm holes to be drilled. All parts and rods are standard Geeetech i3 parts. In total, you'll need six M3 bolts with nuts and washers. During assembly, the parts will have the correct position and orientation to fit the Geeetech frame. The left side motor support will cover half of the electronics cooling fan's original location. In my case, the fan doesn't live there, so it's not a problem, but if your fan lives there, you might need to move it. Here are the additional parts you'll need: * Mini heatsink * Heatsink MK10 * Heatsink washer * Extruder throat MK8 * Teflon tube connector 4mm * 30x30 cooling fan * 40x40 cooling fan * GT2 belt Don't forget to check out these great filament deals: * 1Kg PLA filament at a discount * 1Kg ABS filament at a deal * 1Kg TPU filament at an amazing price
