I've customized a popular 3D printing mod from vad7, but with one key modification - I've used the A1 pin to control a cooling fan. The fan is powered by a MOSFET, which drives it with 12 volts of energy. To make this work with your existing Marlin firmware, you'll need to update your configuration.h file. Simply uncomment the line that enables FAN_SOFT_PWM and add the necessary code from pins_SANGUINOLOLU_12.h - just copy the last four lines and paste them into place. I've also written a simple test script to verify that everything is working as it should, which you can find on Thingiverse at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1684483.
