Geeetech Gt2560 Enclosure

thingiverse

This is an enclosure for the board of my recently assembled Geeetech IX. I will soon upload the walls of this enclosure. I designed a central hole for a 40x40x10 cooler to be mounted on top of the processor and drivers. The polygons I used look fun and provide more than enough ventilation. You might save the M3 screws from the kit for assembling this enclosure. This project is still in progress, so please bear with me and you'll see the results soon. For a more robust, proven design, check out thing:1279978 - it's a great compact option. Print Settings: Printer: Geeetech Pro IX Supports: Yes Infill: 15% Notes: I printed the top enclosure in ABS Chroma green with 240C and 105C using Repetier at 0.2 layer thickness. I strongly recommend using an SD card as it takes quite a while to print all the polygons (took me 3:50). Unfortunately, I encountered a timeout error on the last layer, so I had to print it again. Painters Tape and Acetone are must-haves - use the blue tape and acetone to avoid warping the top structure. The thin and weak structure of the top will tend to warp, so go ahead and overkill the Brim in your slicer with 8mm. For the front of the enclosure, you might want to print it on its back - this way, you can clean up the support material from the slots using a stylus rather than drilling and tapping M3 holes. There's plenty of free space for cables, which is exactly what I wanted for the extruder cables to be as free as possible.
