I've had this case on hand for a few years now and it shows up in the pictures because it's accumulated quite a bit of dust. When I built it, my main goal was to create a case that would keep my controller and drivers as cool as possible while also making it easy to access the components for troubleshooting. To achieve good cooling, I designed four sides of the case out of aluminum which is excellent at absorbing heat. The bottom of the case is made from a massive heat sink repurposed from an old elevator motor drive. There's plenty of empty space inside allowing air to circulate freely through the case. In the back, I've installed a 60x60mm fan and another one on top of the case that I use on hot days when the room temperature is high. The two red buttons on the front switch these fans on and off. Accessibility was also a priority for me since I had to do a lot of troubleshooting on this printer at the time. To make it easy, I made sure to give myself a clear view of the connectors in the back so I can see that all connections are secure - something I've had trouble with in the past with this particular printer. When you remove the top lid, everything is very accessible and easy to work with despite the case being quite large, which gives me plenty of room to get my hands dirty.
