I've had this project going on for years now, and it's evident in the photos due to all the dust it's accumulated :).\r\n\r\nInitially, my goal was to design a casing that would keep my controller and drivers as cool as possible. I also wanted easy access to the components in case of any issues.\r\n\r\nAchieving good airflow was crucial, so I made four sides of the casing out of aluminum which is excellent at absorbing heat. The bottom of the case is a giant heat sink from an old elevator motor drive. There's ample space inside for air to flow freely through the case. In the back, I've installed a fan (60x60mm), and on top of the case, I added another one. This second fan gets activated when the ambient temperature in the room is high. The two red buttons on the front toggle these fans.\r\n\r\nAccessibility was also a key aspect for me since I had to do a lot of troubleshooting with this printer at the time. To ensure I could see all the connectors on the back, I positioned them in a way that allows me to check if everything is properly connected. With the top lid removed, every component is easily accessible. This large casing provides plenty of room for working with it :).
