Geeetech G2S 60mm layer cooler
thingiverse
I was fed up with 40mm fans constantly breaking, so I designed a shroud for a 60mm fan I had just sitting there.\nSome adjustments might need to be made to the spider mounting angle because the shroud barely clears the print layer.\nThis design is meant to mount on the right-hand side, but mirroring it will easily let you install it on the left - be careful not to collide with the front towers.\nThe current iteration requires a retune of my heater PID due to air being directed almost entirely at the nozzle, though this has significantly increased my bridging capability.\nUPDATE:\nThe shroudV2 design boasts a longer neck that focuses the air more directly on the part and less on the block. I've found that running 70% fan speed at 55mm/s with a .4mm nozzle printing glow-in-the-dark PETG results in the best outcome, but anything above that causes temperature drops, sometimes drastically.\nI'm about to update it to focus even more intensely on the part.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: Geeetech G2S Pro\nRafts: None\nSupports: Yes\nResolution: .2mm\nInfill: 80%\nNotes: Simplify3D at 1mm support resolution, 2 perimeter walls all around, and orient the shroud with its flange angled in the air and the bottom resting on the bed.
