I based my creation on a design by someone else here: http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?406,484958,507546#msg-507546. My design is just an extruder mount to make the mk8 compatible with j-head groove mount, also compatible with this link to the original design. The original design was shifted off to the right because its creator wanted the motor to rest on the hot end mount, but I prefer my design that sits at the center and slightly to the left of the original mk8 mount position by about 3-5mm. This way, I avoid messing with the printable area for x axis. To print this item, simply remove the existing fan and heatsink and reuse the longer screw again. For now, consider my design experimental because I haven't installed my e3d yet. However, this item should work fine without further adjustments. The groove mount was specifically redesigned for mk8 extruder compatibility; don't attribute these two parts to me. If anyone tests and prints this item, please let me know in the comments below so I can make some necessary changes or adjustments. This design requires a 25mm length lm8uu. Find updated versions of this design at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:893941 for v2 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:905619 for v3. Instructions: When printing the carriage, print along its length to ensure compatibility with long hot ends like j-head or e3d. Mounting on the original geeetech carriage reduces z-axis print volume. Alternatively, you can use the extruder mount on the existing geeetech carriage if you're willing to accept a slightly larger print height.
