Update 11 Jan 2017 Added a set with lower profile. Original dampeners raised bed about 17mm. This set raises printer just 12.5mm for users with lack tables as cabinets. Download lower profile ones: a) bbDdamper_v3FrontBackSetWithHolesResized.75.stl b) bbDamper_v3CentreSetResized.75.stl Users will need to print 4 X b and 2 X a. I thought my Geeetech printer was silent, with just background noise and fan sound. Then I watched a video by the 3D Printing Nerd where he adds dampeners to an Original Prusa i3 MK2 and suddenly it's all quiet. I downloaded the dampeners and printed one and tested it and suddenly my printer went all silent. Wow!! The original did not fit my Geeetech however so I imported the model into Sketchup and made my mods so that it would fit without moving. There are 2 sets - 1 for Front/Rear and other for Central support. I printed these, fitted them and only sound from a meter away was whine of fan through blower. The printer was very silent. If you thought your printer was silent, print a set of these, fit them and then you will know what silent is. My thanks to lazzymonk who designed the original. Print Settings: Printer: Geeetech Full Metal Aluminum Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% Notes: You need to print 4X of Front/Back model and 2X of Centre model. Note that I printed these without supports. The overhang is very slight and any misprinting here can easily be removed. Post-Printing: Fitting together is easy. One piece fits into other so slide inner piece sideways into outer and when in position, rotate it 90 degrees. Some sanding may be needed depending on your printer. I used a plier to press fit two parts together to make them fit flat. Holes are provided in case you need to screw the dampener to table. The top hole is for screwdriver of course.
