Geeetech Aluminium / Mk 8 Extruder additional fan shroud

This upgraded shroud demands an extra 40x10mm cooling fan that releases cool air directly onto the nozzle and extruded filament. I've discovered that when printing extremely fine vertical elements, residual heat warps and melts the model. To address this issue, I created a thin gasket using thick cardboard to seal the gap between the fan and shroud effectively. Alternatively, you could utilize the thin plastic or polystyrene packing material that comes with disk drives for an added seal. This design was specifically tailored for the Mk8 extruder mounted on a Geeetech Aluminum (Prusa i3 clone). A notable feature of this version is a mounting hole for a mini-switch that allows users to toggle the fan on and off as needed. To power the fan, you should tap into a 12v source from either your power supply or motherboard, or use an existing fan supply wire. I connected mine directly to the "Extruder 2 fan" socket. However, please note that I disclaim any responsibility for incorrect wiring. To assemble this upgrade, print both parts and secure them with Super-glue or a similar adhesive. Be meticulous when aligning the components – there are no locating pegs or lugs provided. A note on the design: it appears the Thingiverse render depicts a hole at the bottom of the shroud, but in reality, one is not present.
