The nozzle kept bumping into my Hot Bed clips so I set out to find a solution. On Thingiverse, all I could find were clamps that relied on screws for fixation. This meant every time I wanted to remove the glass plate, I'd have to unscrew it, clean it, re-screw it and then level the bed all over again. I decided to design my own clamps that fit snugly onto the hot bed and are secured with screws. However, instead of attaching the glass plate directly to the clamps, I attached them flat between the two clamps. All you need to do is lever out the glass plate, clean it and then place it back in its position. Since the clamps match the height of the glass plate, there's no more risk of metal clips bumping into each other. No Sketchup files are needed for this design. Print Settings: Printer: Geeetech Full Metal Aluminum Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% Notes: Two of each model need to be printed. Post-Printing: Clean up the supports and clamps, which are specifically designed for this printer and bed combo. However, they should work with any MK2 bed and 3mm glass plate. You may need to do some filing to get a perfect flush fit between the glass plate and the clamps. The best approach is to attach two models at opposite ends and then start filing off the necessary plastic from the other pieces until you achieve a precise fit when tightened in place. If done correctly, the glass plate will sit perfectly between the four clamps with no movement. My glass plate isn't actually square but rather a rectangle that's almost a square. As such, some filing was required to get it to fit exactly. To clean and replace the glass plate, simply lever it out, wipe it down and push it back into place without needing to unscrew anything. I've been using this setup for over a month with no issues. Either PLA or ABS will work just fine - the choice is yours.
