Geeetech A10M extruder light bar - 51.2mm remix
thingiverse
I really liked Hermiedug's original design but my A10M had a slightly smaller print head at 51.2mm (centre - centre of metal frame). There is an extra stl file supplied to test if this design will fit your printer without printing the full model. Remix changes: * Shortened the width to 51.2mm (centre - centre of metal frame) * Tapers the gaps towards the top so it grips the frame really well * Made the design symmetrical * Added cable tie / wire tie mounts to each side. After printing it can be rotated 180 degrees if you want the cable tie mounts at the front or rear. When fitting insert at a 45 degree angle so a corner at the top slots in first. Note: Might deform if printed with PLA. Works ok when printed with PLA+, ABS or PETG. --- Hermiedug's original summary: A little light under the extruder often helps with getting the first layers down properly. This very simple light bar requires 3 of those 12V sticky back LEDs that can be bought on a roll, from Amazon and other online sellers. I used cable ties to support the wire along a Bowden tube and the battery sits on top of the PSU with double sided tape for a fixing ( all very simple ). I decided to power it from a battery as it will last a very long time, and saves tinkering with the printers electronics. You can add a switch if required but I simply disconnect the battery once I'm happy the print has started off well.
