Gee Bee Faux Radial / motor Mount

Gee Bee Faux Radial / motor Mount

Took some time crafting faux parts for mt HK Gee Bee project, including a nine-cylinder radial engine block and motor mounts made in Solidworks. As an interesting side note, I found rattle-can spray paint to work remarkably well on PLA prints. This paint helped turn the radial into sleek black accents while applying it directly to the print also transformed my printed motor mount to become another smooth, matte black component. For the finished assembly, four precision-bolts (six thirty-second inches in diameter and three inches long) tightly fasten motor and mount in place, making for a very stable installation against the firewall of my airplane. What I actually created was a useful printed spacer that supports this important structural function, rather than just being a mount.
