With a standard 18"x18" wire metal shelf (I used: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YAJHUWS), and these inserts to keep it aligned, I was able to keep my cat from getting into my 18"x18"x24" ExoTerra Terrarium. Other shelves would work if they fit around 1" steel shelf poles (ex. 12"x12" shelf for the 12"x12"x18" ExoTerra Terrarium), but I do not own those so have no links. Four inserts are needed, two of the stl, and two of the stl mirrored. The flat of the wide part aligns to the front and back of the cage.
