GEARS! (Imperial)

Check out my Metric set of gears here for gears with a convenient tooth size for metric designs. This set of mating gears features a diametral pitch (P) of 20 teeth per inch, making it perfect for metric designs. I've included gears with 10-40 teeth in increments of 2 teeth to give you the flexibility you need. For this set, center distance is calculated by simply dividing the total number of teeth (the sum of teeth on mating gears) by 40, resulting in inches. These are true gear profiles designed using advanced engineering grade software with a common 20-degree pressure angle. I'll be happy to create similar sets for other common profiles like 14.5 degree pressure angle as well as an imperial gear set with a diametral pitch of 20 teeth per inch. Additionally, I've included the inventor part files in case anyone wants to modify these gears using inventor - although it's worth noting that you could simply use inventor to create these gears yourself. To calculate the center distance between two gears, you'll need to know the pitch diameter (D) of each gear. The formula for pitch diameter is D = N / P, where N represents the number of teeth. Once you have the pitch diameters, the center distance can be calculated by taking the average of the sum of the radii (half of D) of the two mating gears.
