Geared tilt head for a tripod
grabcad
This geared tilt head was inspired by Arca-Swiss Cube C1. Compared to the prototype it was designed in the way to ensure it can be easily made using 3D printing. I made and tested this particular design using black PLA. The head can handle up to 5kg of payload (up to 3kg recommended) and tilt up to 20 degree in both directions in both axes.If you want to make your own copy, you are welcome to do so =) Make sure to print guides in horizontal position so layer lines will be aligned along the ark of the guide. Also you may need to apply some silicone grease to the guides and gears to make them move smoother.Anyone can download, use and modify this model. If you make changes and decide to re-upload modified version of this model, please provide a link to the original model and give credit to the author, that's me, Martin Dlugoz (aka Dead Salmon). Please note that commercial use of this model is strictly prohibited.
