Geared Locking Arm Ecosystem
thingiverse
Created during 12DT.5A | MC 2022 This is an articulating arm designed with a 16 teeth gear-receptacle system, holding a smartphone at full extension or a laptop at base extension, up to 1 kilogram. This design is focused on allowing maximum strength with infill percentages as low as 20%, printed in PLA with limited supports and flat surfaces. At these settings, no part takes longer than 5 hours to print individually. To ensure screw threads work properly, print with "Slicing Tolerances" set to "Exclusive" in Ultimaker Cura. Gear system includes tolerances already. Respective DXF and Fusion 360 CAD files can be downloaded alongside STL models. Clamp system is suited for tables with a thickness of 18.5mm, with 0.15mm clearance. Adjust and reprint to fit the dimensions of your desk as necessary.
