Gearbox for standard bowden extruder
thingiverse
Update 07/21/2019: After five months of using it, I made some adjustments: - Screws position and necessary length for an easier mounting process; - M5x45 Hex bolt instead of M5x45 rod to achieve a more rigid axis. If the motor doesn't get hot, PLA can be used for small gears. No further development. A simple gearbox improves your standard extruder significantly. The gearbox can be equipped with 3:1 ratio gears from Drakon extruder - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2172854 or 2:1 ratio gears - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3355841. A short video is available at https://youtu.be/xv-3Z3CFZbk. Reliability: two days and counting. There are two versions with 625zz and 605zz ball bearings. Assembly and assembly photos are included. The extruder can be removed without disassembling the gearbox. As reference, Esteps range from 93 to 285 with 3:1 ratio gears.
