Gearbox for 28BYJ-48 stepper motor 5V DC
thingiverse
I design a straightforward gearbox with a ratio of 1:32 to slow down movement for the 28BYJ stepper motor, 5V DC. This motor can be powered by battery, making it ideal for outdoor devices such as my turntable camera system or a camera slider. Materials: - 2x M3 bolts, length 35 mm, conical head, used for gear axes - 3x M3 bolts, length 16 mm, for top of the case - 6x M3 nuts, one for output gear (red), five for bottom case - 1x M5 bolt, length 75 mm; grind with flat file to 4.8mm, then polish with toothpaste and sandpaper 240 grade for a finish with cloth Shaft specifications: - Diameter: 5 mm x Length: 45 mm - First (output) tooth: 0 - 7 mm (for output device) - Diameter: 5 mm from 0 to 12.3mm, but other side has diameter 4.78mm - Second tooth: from 17.3 mm to 24.3mm (for geared output wheel) - Both edges are chamfered at 1x45° I use two ball bearings, 12.8 x 4.85 mm, width 5mm for the 5mm shaft; and a 5V DC stepper motor is optional for fully functional electronic component. The gearbox can be completely assembled without needing the stepper motor. The motor can be added later. This results in two separate pieces: a gearbox and a motor.
