Gearbox Cover for an HSP Bayer RC Car.

My buddy owns an HSP Bayer RC car. The original gearbox cover has turned to mush, which makes it sound worth trying to print a new one out of thin air - but we realized that if the original got so fried it literally melted, getting printed plastic to last even half as long in our scorching Dubai desert might be pushing its luck. After fine-tuning the design a few times, we ended up with a version that seems solid enough. Still, just 7 minutes after assembling the whole shebang, the plastic was beginning to lose shape. What's more interesting is realizing now that we have this STL file handy, our best shot at getting one built like it was meant to be is to approach an engineering firm and get them to use a CNC machine to carve one out of aluminum. Don't say I didn't warn you - printing these bad boys might just end in disappointment. If heat doesn't kill the motor, there are all sorts of other variables that can go haywire. However, if anyone wants to take their chances and give printing it out of plastic a whirl, feel free to do so at your own peril! On the flip side, milling one out of metal sounds like an awesome idea.
