The fifth component of my Race Car project is the gearbox that encompasses a 5-speed transmission and serves as an attachment point for the suspension system. Crucial to the vehicle's performance, it comprises gears that spin and a dual wishbone cantilever suspension system. The gearbox's role as part of the chassis saves weight while increasing rear strength due to reduced points of potential failure. To withstand the forces experienced, materials such as titanium, MMC (Metal Matrix Composite), or carbon fibre may be used. Additional components include a V8 engine, clutch and flywheel, transmission and differential assembly, and a dual wishbone cantilever suspension system. Enjoy viewing the model!
