this is an online tool that is super easy to use, free and fast.
files can be downloaded in a variety of formats including straight to stl.
I made this gear for a metal lathe that I recently purchased. these gears run at about 15 bucks apiece. I am not sure if they will be strong enough for all operations but it meshes well and has the right pitch etc.
If they strip out too quickly I may cast them, as the original gears were an aluminum alloy anyhow.
