Gear wheel - Module 2
thingiverse
These gear wheels are completely compatible one to each others and with 17 wheels you can obtain 272 combinations. A wheel is charatterized by a module (m), if two wheels has the same module they are compatible. Each wheel is also defined by a number of theeth (z) and a primitive diameter (Dp) that is NOT the maximum diameter but is a diameter in which the void between two theeth is equal to the material of the thooth. The gear ratio can be calculated as: r=Dp1/Dp2=z1/z2 . The wheelbase is extremely important and can be calculated as: Wb=(Dp1+Dp2)/2 . The external diameter can be calculated as: Dext=Dp+2*m.
