Gear Tetrahedron

Gear Tetrahedron

thingiverse

This is a thing from the Gear-xxxhedron collection. Description: Gears aren't spinning because a triangular mesh won't rotate. Give it to someone and they'll get a knot in their mind, haha! Update: The standard pinpeg is too long for the center piece. I adjusted the scad library to make shorter pins. The current pins are still not optimal; you need to use a knife and glue to insert them into the center. How-To: Print 1 center piece and 4 pins. The 4 gears must be the same STL file! You'll select different numbers of teeth and gear positions. To create one gear tetrahedron, print 4 identical gears from the same STL. You can print this model in PLA or ABS, whichever you prefer. However, pins are recommended to be printed in ABS if possible. Also, check out my smaller Gear Tetrahedron: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1290032
