A CATIA V5 R2012 parametric gear template allows customization of the teeth number, pressure, helix angle, and gear thickness. By altering these parameters, users can generate variable gear models. Setting the helix angle at zero produces a straight gear, while non-zero angles result in helical gears. The adaptive template also enables the creation of worm models.
