Gear spinner w bearing weights MkII (smaller)
thingiverse
I modified my larger bearings-based gear spinner, which can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2573103. The design utilizes skate board bearing-sized holes (608), both for the actual bearing and the weights. I deliberately use different adapters to avoid wasting bearings as weights, opting instead for the bearing2hexnut adapter located at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2044157 or my own bearing2marble adapter featured in https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2573118. The steampunk-inspired design seamlessly accommodates either hex nuts or marbles. While both options work well, I personally prefer the aesthetic of marbles. The spinner shown in the photo was printed with gold and silver-coloured filament and then coated with a miniature wash before being varnished to achieve a patina effect that covers the entire spinner, including the marbles.
