Gear Sphere (Icosahedron)
thingiverse
Here's an animation of a group of gears that form a symmetrical icosahedron, perfect for printing with your openSCAD software. If you're feeling crafty and decide to print out this model, I'd really appreciate seeing the end result in action - perhaps with some dramatic lighting to show off its intricate gearwork. Inspiration for this idea came from a clever design on Paul Nylander's webpage, which sparked my imagination and led me to bring this concept to life in a whole new way. You can run this animated model smoothly by working within the openSCAD environment - it looks great, especially with all its gears turning and meshing together seamlessly. If someone decides to print out this icosahedral gear model, I'd love to see the end product.
