The height adjustment on my trusty 20-year-old planer malfunctioned because the gear responsible for driving the chain that raises and lowers it seized up and refused to budge anymore. I rebuilt the entire mechanism from scratch, and now it's functioning like new. The fit is remarkably snug, requiring a firm push to secure it in place.
