Gear Cookie Cutters

Gear Cookie Cutters

thingiverse

Three gear-shaped cookie cutters for producing culinary mechanisms. The gears have the same diametral pitch, 8 teeth/inch, so they all mesh together properly. Files are posted for 16, 24 and 32 toothed gears, with mating diameters of 2, 3 and 4 inches respectively. The center holes are 3/8" and should allow the baked cookies to rotate easily around a pencil shaft. The gear teeth have an involute profile with a pressure angle of 20 deg (in case you care). If the gear teeth break off when you're playing with your edible gears, that's just how the cookie crumbles! Instructions My test parts were printed at a 0.01" layer height out of ABS. No support material was needed. The thin "cutting" part of these cookie cutters is 0.02". The intention here was to set your printer to a 0.02" contour path (deposited plastic) width so that the thin "cutting" portion is only a single contour wide.
