Gear and Rack

The gear, designed using Clifford's Gear Script (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:829), is accompanied by a custom rack created via an experimental Rack Script (https://whatever.metalab.at/user/wizard23/RackGenerator). This script works with closed loops, such as gears or stars, to generate fitting racks for rolling objects. After lasercutting the rack - which slightly reduces its size due to the laser's width - it rolls smoothly with zero slack. However, if using a CNC, additional slack may be required. Cut out this design and enjoy the beauty of rolling curves or incorporate it into your creative mechanical contraptions.
