GE SpaceSaver XL Microwaves are notoriously fragile, with their handles often breaking off without warning. To repair this issue, start by removing the screw located at the top of the door - you may find it helpful to heat a flathead screwdriver beforehand and use it to carefully melt into any broken-off plastic fragments. Once the old handle is cleared away, simply screw in a new one.
