GE Fridge Mullion Hinge, Part #200D8156P001 (Door Divider, Astragal, Latch, Spring)

Welcome! I own a GE Refrigerator, and my fridge has an Mullion that divides the two doors. On the left door, it springs into position when the door closes, and springs to "hide" when the door is open. If you're unlucky enough to have a bad day and you open the door without realizing this divider didn't swing out of the way properly, and then proceed to whip the door shut, you'll find yourself with a broken GE Fridge door. This replacement part is for the Upper hinge that attaches the upper part of the mullion to the door and holds the Mullion retraction spring assembly. The original part number I replaced had the following markings: 200D8156P001 and CAV 2 POM. I printed this part with Alloy 910 (A Taulman Nylon Formula) to ensure it was a strong part, as nylon is notoriously difficult to work with. I printed it at 100% infill, which isn't a big deal for a small part like this. The biggest challenge is getting a good print out of alloy 910. Unfortunately, this part has an awkward shape, so you must print it with supports. While the orientation of this part seems counter-intuitive from a "support-waste" perspective, after repeated print failures I found this to be the best approach. Make sure you print in nylon and with supports, and if you're using a Taz 6 like me, you'll definitely want to follow these instructions from Taulman on how to get nylon to stick to the bed. It's incredibly difficult to bond and get a stable print. I would not advise leaving this print unattended given the possibility that it could debond from the bed and get stuck to the print head and screw up your print head. If you're using a Taz 6, I recommend following these instructions: Download and use at your own risk as always. The divider in my fridge is called a Mullion, thanks to user E30TECH for telling me its name! It's a great reminder that there's always something new to learn. I printed this part on a Taz 6 with a 1.75mm filament using IT Works 3D Titan Aero Pro head (https://itworks3d.com/).
