Update December 2017 We added a cutting-edge textured flame and gave our thumbnail a major facelift. The rocket was precision-printed using Polyalchemy Silver Elixir PLA. Update: We significantly updated the model. It's now entirely hollow, resulting in zero errors during Simplify3D slicing and features flat bridges under its curved fins for seamless printing on certain machines. Additionally, we eliminated the center booster support; be sure to add supporting elements beneath the main nozzle to avoid a failed print. This model ships in four detachable parts for hassle-free assembly. Our designers have successfully printed this model using various high-performance filaments, including Colorfabb PLA, colorfabb bronzefill, woodfill, ABS, and even glow-in-the-dark variants! The bronzer material, specifically, exceeded expectations as our go-to preference. Don't miss out on additional free models at gcreate.com – we have more awesome designs waiting to be printed! This design was crafted using the powerful 3ds Max 2011 software, but a slight unit discrepancy forced us to upscale the model by 2540%. For seamless results in your slicer program, you might need to manually adjust its dimensions, as in the case with slic3r 1.1.6. Take note that our clever smoke simulation relies on Meta particles – ingeniously customized as 3ds Max mesh entities – giving the finished piece a captivating effect! Explore New Downloads! This setting, typical in slic3r, helps prevent the delicate nozzles from breaking off. If using a particularly sticky filament like bronzefill, try attaching the removable nozzles afterward for extra durability. Consider printing with a raft, as required by your specific print surface – our rocket's structure may initially prove finicky but prints remarkably after connecting its three stabilizing fins. Unleash your creativity and play around with different materials to create your unique masterpiece! Woodfill, bronzefill, or several other types of PLA work amazingly well for printing. Alternatively, consider a miniature rocket by simply scaling down this awesome model! In spite of having no required supports within its design, the gCreate Rocket includes center booster support elements built right in. These conveniently disassemble after the print if you plan on showcasing it with the impressive smoke stand attachment.
