This will replace the stock extruder with an e3D Titan for the gCreate gMax 1.5xt. This upgrade improves performance with flexible materials and reduces mass on the X-axis by using a smaller stepper motor. Print settings and recommended materials (see the fifth photo for recommended print orientation): Titan Bracket: Print in a strong and tough material like Tough PLA, ABS, PETG, or Nylon. Print with the large flat face down, supports enabled, 4-6 walls, and at least 40% infill. Fan Shroud: Print in higher temperature materials except PLA. Print with open face down without supports. LED Holder: Settings and material are up to you; print with small flat face down. Required Materials (US): (1x) https://www.filastruder.com/collections/titanextruder/products/e3d-titan-extruder (1x) https://www.filastruder.com/collections/electronics/products/compact-but-powerful-motor (1x Groovemount for 1.75mm) https://www.filastruder.com/collections/e3d-spare-parts-and-accessories/products/bowden-couplings-all-types?variant=21286000324 (100 mm 2mm ID) https://www.filastruder.com/collections/e3d-spare-parts-and-accessories/products/ptfe-tubing?variant=1287965544 Rough Instructions: - Keep track of all screws and nuts when disassembling the stock extruder; take pictures as you go. - Remove hardware from the X-carriage, then remove the plastic mount. - Mount the new Titan bracket on the X-carriage. - Put lock-nuts and BL-touch nuts into their pockets before installing the Titan to the bracket (they will be blocked by the Titan). - Assemble the Titan and V6 according to e3D's instructions with the new motor. - Reassemble all wires and fans onto the new mount (all except LED and BL-touch). - Insert the LED strip into the LED holder, then assemble the BL-touch bracket behind the LED holder onto the new mount (this is different from the stock mount). - Use zip ties to organize all wires like the stock setup. - In the electronics box, flip the direction for the extruder motor. - Change esteps to 820 and calibrate from there; use e3D's guide. - Perform a PID autotune. - Watch your first print; adjust Z-height as needed since it will not be the same as before.
