GC/EC FC GrabCAR Project v1
grabcad
My suggestion for the GC/EC GrabCAR Project, still not refined because the assembly is to big for my comp. Basically the principal is, the wheels have integrated turbine blades that fill the air cushion under the vehicle, switching it from rolling to hover mode, in the back there are two thrust vector pulse engines that propel it in flight mode. Steering in flight mode is through jets of air coming from the nozzles on the sides of the vehicle and from the side fins (they need much aerodynamic refinement). The turbines inside the wheels can turn independently from the wheels thus allowing the vertical take off. In flight the wheels keep spinning and they act like gyros stabilizing the craft. This is just a start, the next concept will have virtually 0 cross-section wind resistance, all the incoming air will be translated laminarily through venturi tube channels. The skin is covered with photovoltaic cells that help power the four variable field magnet motors, that drive all wheels.
