GBXCart RW Pro Shell Cut Jigs

This is only for the PRO variant of GBXCart RW hardware as that version is designed to fit within a GBA cart shell. USB port DID change location (slightly) between the variants so make sure you use the correct jig for your hardware.Jig for 1.4 includes 1.6mm hole for drilling a hole in the top shell for the button (not present on 1.3 variant hardware).https://retrogamerepairshop.com/collections/insidegadgetsBoth Version Instructions:Print jig and snap on to DISASSEMBLED bottom shell housing for a GBA Cart shell that you wish to use as housing. Should fit all shells, including Krikzz' Everdrive based shells, but may fit others better than some. Use (round) needle files to cut port hole out little at a time following the contour of the jig. Remove material slowly and check fit frequently. Finish with flat needle file to smooth out bottom of port.Top shell will then need to have a support trimmed by hand with a flat file. See second pic for end result. The cuts here should be hidden so as long as you remove enough material, there will be no cosmetic issues. Make sure not to hold the file at an angle such that you hit the outside of the shell too. Again, remove material slowly and check fit often. You can always remove more material but you cannot add material back.v1.4 only Instructions:If you wish to have a hole for the button so that you do not need to use the software based disconnect (e.g. for hotswapping carts without having to unplug the whole GBX) OR for installing firmware updates (otherwise you can just remove the cover for updates), simply place the top shell housing for a GBA Cart shell that you wish to use into the jig (label side out) and drill through the bottom of the jig.Video coming soon (tested successful).Category: Electronics
