GBW (GPS-Based Watch)
thingiverse
The system consists of two sets of watches that work together seamlessly. There's a tracker watch and a guardian watch, both designed with safety in mind. 1. The tracker watch is equipped with a GPS SIM-based tracker and features an easy removable design. You can swap out the watch face to suit your style, because let's be honest, nobody wants to wear the same old watch forever. I've designed it so you can easily change up the look, making it unique to your taste. A small button on the left side of the tracker watch sends a notification to the guardian when pressed. It's a discreet and effective way to get help in an emergency. 2. The guardian watch has a special system that lets it track up to three different tracker watches at a time. If one of those linked watches presses the help button, the green button lights up on the guardian watch, and you can see the location on a map through a special app (which I'm working on right now). You can then notify the police if needed. But that's not all - if the red button lights up, it means the tracker is moving out of its safe zone. What's a safe zone? It's an area you set on the map using my upcoming GPS system app. Let me explain with an example: imagine setting safe zones for your child's school, home, and bus route. If they wander outside those boundaries, you'll get a location alert on your phone, and the red button will turn on. Why do we need this safe zone system? According to CNN, between 100k-50k children in the USA go missing each year, with only a 39.6% recovery rate. And it's not just kids - millions of people worldwide are reported missing every year. That's why we need a system like this to protect our loved ones. This system isn't just for kids; tourists can benefit from it too. They often travel alone and may find themselves in unfamiliar places, making them more vulnerable to danger. Why didn't I include a touchscreen? Well, kidnappers are smart enough to know that a smartwatch or touchscreen watch can be tracked. A classic-looking watch has fewer chances of being removed from the victim's wrist when they're abducted. As for why there's no direct call to 911, it's simple: if everyone with this watch activated the help button, the police would be overwhelmed. That's why I added the guardian feature - so you can decide whether to go check on your child or call the authorities yourself. I've designed this system to blend in with any outfit, which is why there are multiple watch designs available. And with the upcoming app, parents will be able to set zones and parameters for their kids, receiving notifications if they wander outside those boundaries. The AI-cloud based recording system will also kick in when your child is being bullied or threatened, using words that can trigger it. Future features include a voice call system and an international tracking system for tourists. I've already designed 65% of the parts, and production will start after June 9th.
