GBU/16 Laser Guided Bomb 3d model
cgstudio
This is a highly detailed model of the GBU/16 Paveway II Laser Guided bomb. A medium detail texture is included. The Laser Guided Bombs were introduced in 1968 to meet the US military's demands for precision-guided bombs. These semi-active LGBs home in on reflected laser beam energy directed at the target. The target illumination can be done by the launching aircraft, another third aircraft, or ground-based troops operating a laser designator. In fact, the LGBs are actually a laser guidance kit applicable to current conventional unguided bombs. The Royal Air Force (RAF) of the United Kingdom was the first operator to drop these bombs in combat during the conflict over the Falklands in 1982.
