The McNaughton Center Caver Coring System is incredibly effective, but it does require a lot of practice to master. Gavin Brunton created a brilliant jig and accompanying spreadsheet that calculates the perfect entry angle for the coring blade based on the bowl blank diameter and depth. With this jig, you can set the angle with precision. Check out Gavin's YouTube videos showcasing his design, where he also shares the spreadsheet for calculating the optimal entry angle. I'm sharing these models for anyone to print, and I'll keep updating them as I make changes. The bolts used in this design are the same M5 bolts described in Gavin's videos. This jig is designed for the standard set of blades, using the radii specified in Gavin's videos. These worked well for me, but there may be some variation depending on your specific needs. If you encounter any drastic differences, let me know and I can create a custom adaptor for you. Color-coded blade sizes: Red - 89 mm Green - 137 mm White - 176 mm Blue - 275 mm Version 2.23 (2019): Updated the connector between the extension and protractor to fit better off the printer. Protractor hash marks are now recessed for easier use. Angle indicator is longer for improved accuracy. To-Do List: Create a Turret adapter and blade selector to fit the small blade set.
