Gaussian Linear Magnetic Accelerator Track
thingiverse
This is an advanced track system designed specifically for a state-of-the-art Gaussian Linear Magnetic Accelerator, clearly depicted in the accompanying image. To achieve optimal performance, use an N52 cylindrical neodymium magnet with a diameter of 1 inch and a width of 0.5 inches. For precise placement and support within the cylinder, strategically place internal supports to securely hold the magnet in position - I utilized dissolvable supports on my Ultimaker 3 Extended for this purpose. The track pieces are engineered to fit together seamlessly, but for added stability and precision, I strongly recommend hot gluing them directly onto a plank. Meanwhile, the tubes serve as incremental spacers, allowing you to accurately measure the force required to detach the ball bearing from the magnet at various distance intervals, providing valuable data on performance across multiple distances.
