A comprehensive kit of components designed to facilitate the creation of an accurate 16T Mineral Wagon in 1:32 Scale. Scaling it up or down may be feasible, but it's likely that a different nozzle will be required due to compromised thicknesses optimized for the 0.4mm nozzle used. I've aimed to replicate Diagram 1/108, but with top flaps and Morton Brake Gear, not double-sided as depicted in standard models. One day, I might be persuaded to add parts for other diagrams, but for now, I'm satisfied with this iteration. Additionally, one side has been modeled with the door removed to allow for an open configuration, although the door itself has yet to be designed. Some compromises have been made to accommodate printing on a Prusa i3 Mk3 with PLA/ABS and a 0.4mm nozzle at a 0.2mm layer height. In some areas, thicknesses have been increased beyond scale requirements, while most rivets and fixings have been omitted for simplicity's sake. Dimensions have been approximated from various sources, so accuracy to the prototype cannot be guaranteed. For an exact representation, it's recommended to opt for one of the etched brass kits available. This project was conceived as a static model, with printed wheels, axles, axleboxes, coupling hooks, chains, buffers, and other components serving as an exercise in 3D printing capabilities. Seeing a large number of these models printed and operational, with upgraded fittings, would be a dream come true – but time constraints will likely prevent me from realizing this vision. The body parts were printed using grey PLA, while the underframe and running gear components were created with black ABS. Assembly was facilitated using Cyano, and although the kit was assembled without proper cleaning or fettling, it functions as intended. With a bit of refinement, the fit could be significantly improved.
