Gauge 1 (1:32) Märklin style coupling - IMPROVED
prusaprinters

In the version of the Märklin-style coupling by "raby" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1605582) the metal spring/plate under the hook was missing. (a picture of a Märklin hook is added as reference)

Due to this missing spring, these hooks frequently release unintended when driving over bumps, points and rail-joints in the track.

A piece of plastic is added to the lid. This acts as spring when printed in PETG. PLA is probably too brittle for the intended purposes.

The original design by "raby" has been left unchanged.

Good luck,

Rob

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

CR-10

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2 mm

Infill:

20

Filament: 12-3D PETG Black

Notes:

3 walls

Post-Printing =============

1: Take a suitable spring to fit between the dimple on the hook and the holder. (use a piece of the spring from a ballpoint pen)

2: Mount the cover by glueing 2 pieces of filament in the intended holes.

3: To make automatic uncoupling possible a suitable pin/filament is glued in the holes on the side and underside.
