Gaudi Stool

thingiverse

Introducing a lightweight stool with a 3D printed structure and carbon-fiber shell, inspired by the design techniques of Antoni Gaudi. The Gaudi Stool's shape is derived from a model of hanging chains, allowing gravity to determine the strongest and most logical form for withstanding forces. Carbon-fiber and 3D printing were utilized to apply Gaudi's methods in creating a durable yet lightweight piece of furniture. Weighing exactly 1KG, the stool can be printed using Selective Laser Sintering machines, with an available .stl file for customization. The design features a hollow sleeve in one leg for fitting a carbon-fiber insert to enhance structural strength.
